everything you love about moto lifestyle. in one place.

127& 129, 39455 Discovery Way, Squamish, bc.

workshop. community hub. purveyor of provisions & good times.

Moto '79 is the brainchild of several friends who, after years of riding and working on bikes, decided on putting that knowledge to use.

A place where you can get your bike worked on, while you sip on a cold one and stock up some high quality goods. Where you can get together with a bunch of like-minded riders, or stop on your way up one of the most jaw-dropping roads in the world for a damn fine cup of coffee and refuel. We’re bringing everything we love about this lifestyle into one place.

  • Workshop

Our workshop and team is like no other. From custom-builds, to tweaks and maintenance, we've got everything you need to get your bike running like a beast. Sticking top-of-the-line gear and the best parts and accessories around, so you can take your set-up to the next level.

  • Provisions

We don't deal in cheap and cheerful. We aim to have the highest quality products that stand the test of time, and look damn good doing it. Working hand in hand with our partners, we will be stocking a range of gear and accessories from both local and international brands, along with our own Moto '79 goods.

  • Community

We were born from community, and it will be at the heart of everything we do. From social rides and meet-ups, to youth events and fundraisers, we're in it to give everyone the opportunity to be involved, and find a group they can call their own.

  • Good Times

We're not all work and no play at Moto '79. We know how to have a good time, and we're always up for a sunset rip up the trails, or a few beers post ride. With live music & backyard barbies as a weekly standard at our place, we're setting a goal of spreading the good times, and giving our community a place to gather.

  • Owner + Founder

With three decades of two-wheeled adventures under his belt, Nate Gray embodies the essence of the moto lifestyle. From tearing up the dirt on motocross tracks to honing his wrenching skills on all types of bikes, he's a true maverick. With the same determination and dedication he used to be a professional athlete, Nate re-focused those skills into the creation of Moto ‘79, forging deep bonds and find his place within the moto community.

He's got love for every bike that roars, but his heart skips a beat for those rad 1980s Honda dirtbikes. As the owner and operator of Moto '79, Nate keeps the crew stoked, the passion blazing, and the community thriving. With his infectious energy and unwavering dedication, he's the driving force behind the Moto '79 experience.

  • General Manager

With almost 20 years of riding and wrenching experience, Andy has embraced the journey and the moto lifestyle. He tinkers with his own bikes, learns as he goes, and hasn’t stopped since the day he got his hands on one. As a Journeyman Plumber and gas fitter in a past life, he’s become a leader, which naturally led him to become the General Manager at Moto '79. He thrives on meeting new people, exploring destinations that make you sit back and soak it all in, and most importantly cherishing the journey itself. Andy's favourite bike? It's the one he's riding whenever you ask him that question. At Moto '79, he wears multiple hats, from managing the day to day, being the parts guy and a friendly face. Post coffee.

  • Service Manager & Build Lead

From dirt to road, this man’s done it all in the name of two-wheeled adventures. 25 years of riding and 17 years of experience, the last 6 of which were as a pro, Cosmo ditched the bar and carpentry scene when he realized his true calling: building bikes. With a Red Seal certification under his belt, he's the go-to guy for unleashing performance and keeping those "old farts" awake. When he's not in the shop, you'll find him chasing the ultimate ride and on the hunt for his one true love—a bike that steals his heart. We’re lucky to have him as the Lead Tech Guru bringing some expert skills to the team.

  • Lead Technician

Erik the Viking started getting his hands greasy working on motorcycles at the ripe age of 6 with his father in their garage. From there, as many do, he started ripping knobblies in the dirt before transitioning to street as soon as “legally” possible. After his Power Ranger days terrorising Edmonton on his GSXR 600 working as a heavy duty mechanic, Erik moved to Vancouver and started his career as a Red Seal Technician together with Cosmo at a Honda motorsports centre. Together they ran the service shop for 6 years, changing the scene as they opened the doors to all years, makes and models. This led Erik to discovering his passion for Harleys and old Americana, but his love for true speed never died, leading him to specialise in supersport and V-twin performance engine builds and diagnostics.

make sure you don’t miss a thing.

We're on the road to opening up our doors, and we want to make sure you know what's going down. Updates, events, inspiration to hit the road and more, you'll find it on our socials.
